the bags under my eyes have
become a perminant fixing
just like the day to day longing of
what should have been

but if time heals all then,
i guess i'm doing fine
putting pressure on my exit wounds
to keep you from mind

and i'm finally doing okay,
i promise that

clearing out old keepsakes
that held fleeting moments in place
photographs of summer roadtrips
and dorm room days

i guess i always thought
we would reconcile as friends
but sustained absense become something
i had to accept

and i'll find closure
in anything i can
in hopes that someday
i'll feel myself again
